THE BETA AZTEC:
|
|
 From
what I know, this left shot is the only existing Beta shot of the Aztec.
It appears as if Bond is starting in the room ahead of where he starts
now. He also has a silenced PP7, and of course, his blue suit. He now
of course wears a black suit. Compare the then and now shots, and you
can see that nothing has changed in the level.
Bond actually wore this blue suit in all levels, until the others were
suits were programmed into the game.

Perhaps
the biggest Aztec mystery, is whether or not there were Female Moonraker
Elite as guards. They appear as characters in Multiplayer, as do Female
Scientists. Rare would likely have needed a reason for creating them,
other than just something fun to do. If you've seen the Moonraker
movie, then you know that the film included both male and female Moonrakers.
|
|
 But
were Female Moonrakers ever intended for Goldeneye? My guess would be
yes, but it probably was scrapped early on. A possible reason, could be
towards male violence. Bond beating and killing women could have made
a few women's groups angry, so Rare planned ahead and thought to leave
it the way it is now. That's the only explanation I can offer.
|
|
 Another
thing that Rare added for detail only, were these vents, located on the
ceiling near the double drone gun hall. It's strange how Rare included
so many vents and things like this in the game.
|
|
Okay, I thought that there might
be something with these vents in the Shuttle hangar. But with Gameshark
codes, I was able to take a close look, and found that they lead nowhere,
and are just part of the flat wall. More things added strictly for detail.
|
|
 Acouple
other small things, this indent in a wall, and the level's only window.
Obviously these things are nothing major, but they just seem like odd
things to add for detail.
|
|
And finally, here's the trench that can take you directly to Jaws. It's
been my experience that this is not the best way to take to beat the level.
But why is it here? Probably just to confuse us into thinking that it's
a shortcut. You can beat the level this way, but it makes it harder.
