OHMSS
00 Agent: James Bond
Mission 7: Cuba
Part ii: Control Center
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
- Protect Natalya
- Disable Goldeneye satellite
- Destroy armored mainframes
BACKGROUND: The Janus Control Center has
been located in an underground complex in the Cuban jungle.
M BRIEFING: Into the lion's den, 007. Well,
just be careful. Remember that you and Miss Simonova are a team, it's critical
that you protect her while she's hacking into the Janus computers. With nay
luck she'll be able to stop the Goldeneye from firing.
Q BRANCH: While you're there old boy, see if
you can't erase their databases. The details of Janus's criminal backrolls
are stored on specially armored mainframe units. That information is worth
millsions to Janus - I'm sure you'll find some way of deleting it.
You'll begin in the elevator, with Natalya. Strafe
out, and pick off the guard in the corner. More guards will come around
the corner, and they'll also need to be killed. Lean around the corner
to spot part of the drone gun high up on the wall. Don't go out too far,
just enough to see a bit of it to shoot it down.
Further around the corner, against the far wall,
is another drone. This one is the hardest to take out. After that one
explodes, head around the wall to the next corner. Look up to see the
final gun, and take it down.
Now strafe out and eliminate the remaining guards
in this section. Once they're all finished, even the one by the computer
terminal, head back to the lift to get Natalya.
Once Natalya leaves the lift, she'll head for the
computer, and open the unlocked doors from there. She'll get one open,
and you can head through it.
Through the door, head past the guards, and down
the ramp to find two more guards. Kill them, and grab the box of remote
mines on the floor.
Now, head back to the guards. They're awkwardly
angled, and a mine usually won't take care of them. Beware of the 'clink,
clink' sound, which means a grenade has been thrown, and you have to temporarily
retreat. Once you manage to get rid of the four guards, or hear four cries
of death, meaning they rebounded a grenade at themselves, you can head
through that room.
At the back of the room, there is a crack leading
to the next room. A guard is waiting there, and so is another behind him.
And finally two more to the right. You can lure all of them into this
crevice, for easy disposal. Once finished, head up the stairs.
At the end of the stairs, you'll reach a door to
open. You can pick off all of the guards, simply by standing to the side,
and shooting the first guard, then one by one, the remaining guards. Head
through there, and through the door at the end of that room, into a big
room. Take the stairs, and ignore the computer programmer, Boris.
Head up yet another flight of stairs, turn around,
and head to the left. You'll find this dead end… But you can walk through
the bars, and grab body armor, which will be needed later. Head back,
to find two guards waiting.
Down the first set of stairs, face the big screen,
and head left, all the way around, to the mainframe. Plant a mine, and
detonate by pressing A+B. Next, head down the stairs to the bottom, and
head left, to this room. You'll need to pick off a drone gun, and guards
will come running.
Kill the guards, then locate and destroy the second
drone gun. Next, enter the room, and peer to the right, and the left of
the door, to eliminate the drone guns on both sides.
Near the back of the room, is another mainframe.
Mine it, and detonate it. Head back, through the door, and plant mines
on the two mainframes at the bottom of the stairs, BUT DO NOT DETONATE.
Head up the stairs.
Facing the screen, head to the right, and in the
corner, plant a mine on it, again, NOT DETONATING. Open the nearby door,
and head down it's path to find Natalya waiting. She'll now head for the
computer by the main screen. Now the fun begins.
This is a gruelling chore, to protect Natalya from
the guards, who will come down both stairs, to the right, and the left.
Keep an eye out for the guards running along the walkway, so you'll know
to expect them coming down the stairs soon. Eliminate all of them as soon
as possible, grabbing their ammo when possible.
You're sure to hear a 'crash', meaning the glass
is broken, and a guard is shooting at Natalya from her level. Whip around,
and fill him with lead, taking no chances. If you protect Natalya for
long enough, she'll eventually finish hacking the satellite. After that,
she leaves. When she clears the top of the stairs, select your remote
mines, and press A+B to detonate your mines.
Detonating the mines will make this opening in
the glass, which you head through. Head through it, and right for the
door ahead. Open it, and throw a mine on the glass wall, and leave. Ignore
the guards in the room, and detonate that mine, to destroy the final mainframe.
Objective C: Complete.
Away from that room, head back, passing the stairs,
and into what looks like an elevator. Take a right at the first chance,
past the lockers, to grab body armor, which could likely spare your life,
and will allow you to breathe easier, knowing you can now take more shots.
With your newly acquired armor, head back, and
to the right, opening the door, Head straight from there, and you'll find
an elevator along the wall, on the left. Just make it there, open the
door, and jump inside to complete the mission.
