00 Agent: James Bond

Mission 9: el-Saghira

Part i: Egyptian

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

a. Recover the golden gun

b. Defeat Baron Samedi?

BACKGROUND: Scaramanga has passed into legend as the deadliest assassin of all time. The current whereabouts of his golden gun are unknown.

M BRIEFING: This is sinister, 007. We've received a message from someone claiming to be Baron Samedi, the voodoo sorcerer you crossed swords with back in Haiti. He claims to have the golden gun and wants to meet you in the ancient el-Saghira temple in the Valley of the Kings. Obviously it's a trap, but as a double-0 agent you know that goes with the territory.

Q BRANCH: Keep your wits about you, 007. Remember, the golden gun is a powerful weapon, perhaps it could even defeat Samedi.

Strafe left at the starting point, through the pillars, against the wall. From here, walk forward along the pillars, and behind the last one is a guard. After you kill him, another guard will appear from behind the same pillar.

Head behind where you killed the guards, into another pillar room. There's a hall on the left side, head there, and go up the stairs, bringing you to the golden gun room, rightè .

Your next task, is to reach the golden gun. If you step on the wrong tiles, the drone guns will activate the ancient trap. Step only on the blue arrow tiles marked on this map. As long as you stay on those tiles, the guns won't activate, and the case with the golden gun will open when you reach it. Collect the gun to complete Objective A.

The drone guns will no longer be of harm once the shield for the golden gun drops so you cal collect it.

Collect the golden gun, and exit through a stone panel to the left of where the golden gun was.

After exiting, there is a drop to the ground, and a guard will be in the shadows to your right. Finish him with a single shot from the golden gun. Proceed forward along the wall, coming to another guard.

Samedi will be found at the far end of the room. Be sure to hit him, because he tends to hop and jump around. After killing him, head back to where you started the level to find him alive and well... so kill him again...

After killing Samedi for the second time, head back through the door you entered the room from, back towards the golden gun room. Instead though, turn before the steps to the room, and take the hall to the right, heading to the bottom level, with a wet floor.

The bottom level is small, so you'll pass through it quickly, and be on your way back upstairs again. You'll reach a dark room, with a black pillar in the center.

Strafe left to collect the armor in the corner, and open fire on Samedi, who will be in the opposite corner. It may take a few tries, because often your shots don't "count", meaning you hit him fair and square, but it doesn't register. Once he falls, you know you've fired a fatal shot.

The cinema scene kicks in, and Bond leaves the temple. He is followed by Baron Samedi, who just laughs… and laughs… and laughs… He is immortal, and cannot be killed. This is the ending to one of the greatest games of all time.
