00 Agent: James Bond

Mission 6: St. Petersburg

Part iii: Sreets

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

  1. Contact Valentin
  2. Pursue Ourumov and Natalya
  3. Minimize civilian casualties

BACKGROUND:  After escaping KGB interrogation at the military archives, Natalya has been recaptured by General Ourumov. She is being taken by car to the Janus operations base in St. Petersburg.

M BRIEFING: Get after them, 007! We can't afford to let the trail go cold and the chances are they'll lead you straight to Trevelyan. Keep a clear head though, any civilian casualties on the streets of St. Petersburg could create an unfortunate international incident.

We believe that Valentin Zukovsky is still in the area - he may be able to help you.

Q BRANCH: No gadgets this time, 007. Though you should be on the lookout for hardware the Russians may be left lying around. Keys in the ignition and all that, old chap.

You'll start off in a corridor. Head forward until it opens to your left. Peek around the corner to take out the guard you will see. More will come running. After killing them, approach the fence to take out guards behind it, since they can't shoot through the fence, but you can.

Head past the fence, and over towards the tank. Climb it, and press "B" while on top to take control. Head forward and follow the road where the street begins. At the "T" section of the road, take the left route, leading you to this dead end where you dismount the tank.

Around the corner, there are guards. Take this one out, then look to your left to find two more standing guards. To your right, visible in the left shot ß , is a building with windows. You can pass through the first window, and into the building...

But as soon as you enter, get this guard before he gets you. Behind him is body armor. The other side of the building has another guard, and a grenade launcher for you to pick up. After stocking up with these supplies, head out the window, and over to this door in another building.

You'll meet Valentin inside it's only room. Speak with him, and he'll leave to complete the objective, giving you more time. Beware of guards when you're stopped talking with Valentin though. After that, head all the way back to where you parked the tank.

Hop on, and cruise the streets. Don't waste time and health dealing with guards. Just squish 'em flat, or leave them. If a car blocks your path, hesitate for a moment to blow it up with the tank's cannon. Driving over a car causes it to explode, making Bond take damage. Just slow down and blow it up before you drive over it.

There are only three chances to make a turn, and take the left route all times. Just keep cruising through at fast speeds to get away from enemy fire. Just after your second turn though, there is a field of street mines. Stop, and fire a low tank shell to clear them out before proceeding.

Just after the mines, is a left turn, (above, right screenshot) This will lead you to this section, that looks like a dead end. It's actually the end of the level. Just keep driving, until the cinema scene kicks in.
